Nine homeschool students, ages 9-16, from Rhode Island and Massachusetts came together in their first virtual exchange call with staff members of The Marshall Legacy Institute. The students participated in a brief ice breaker to allow everyone to become acquainted with each other and then dove into a lesson about empathy, and how it differs from sympathy.
Following the discussion about empathy, students learned a little about Bosnia-Herzegovina. They will experience their first virtual exchange with youth in BiH next week. We had fun practicing some words and phrases in Bosnian.
