Dayton's MDD Campaign

30 Years of Peace:
Sending a Mine Detection Dog from Dayton to Bosnia and Herzegovina

To honor the historic role of Dayton in ending the Bosnian War, MLI is launching a special fundraising campaign to sponsor and deploy a new Mine Detection Dog — MDD Dayton — to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

For more than 21 years, MLI has donated 49 lifesaving hero dogs to Bosnia, including our beloved K9 Ambassador, MDD Rico. Each hero dog has the power to save countless lives by locating hidden landmines and explosive remnants of war. With their extraordinary noses, Mine Detection Dogs (MDD) can "sniff out" and find landmines more than three times faster than human deminers, accelerating the path to safety, farming, and rebuilding.

All funds raised will directly support the training, certification, and deployment of MDD Dayton, carrying forward the lifesaving legacy of dogs like Rico.

No gift is too small. Together, we can make Bosnia-Herzegovina safer for generations to come.
