MLI attended the UXO/Demining Caucus on April 3, 2019, to educate Congressional members and staff about the valuable U.S. humanitarian demining programs. The event was held as a celebration of the April 4th International Mine Awareness Day.
Our retired mine detection dog Yankee, who helped to save lives and limbs in Sri Lanka by sniffing out landmines, was a guest of honor at the event as she demonstrated to attendees how she detected mines during her work years in Sri Lanka. Yankee loved meeting everyone and getting her picture taken with her new friends!
