The Marshall Legacy Institute (MLI) held its 23rd Anniversary Clearing the Path Gala virtually on November 18th, 2020, to celebrate resilience and perseverance in humanitarian mine action during this challenging year.
During our annual awards ceremony, we honored business, industry, and government leaders, as well as exceptional individuals whose work helps to save lives and limbs. We hope our guests enjoyed the opportunity to take virtual field trips to visit our honorees, partners, and others on their home turf in Azerbaijan, Bosnia Herzegovina, Colombia, Iraq, Lebanon, Sri Lanka and Yemen.
The 2020 Honorees include Abeer Yahya Mabkhot from Yemen (Survivor's Award); Santiago Ballesteros from Colombia (Peacemaker Award); Loghman Namazov and Kora from Azerbaijan (MDD Team of the Year Award); Melissa Stockwell (Survivor's Assistance Award); and Senator Mike Enzi and Diana Enzi (Founder's Award). Thank you so much to all of our wonderful and inspiring Honorees for your work in helping to clear the path for others.
A special thanks to the evening's Keynote Speaker, Stan Brown, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Political-Military Affairs; and Special Guests - Senator Patrick Leahy, Sarajevo Mayor Abdulah Skaka, and Dr. Bisera Turkovic (Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia Herzegovina).
